Assisting our Hunters & Fishers
Paying Fees
For Tribal members to obtain hunting tags or commercial fishing decals or to check out keys to gated DNR roads, pay Accounting first, then present receipts at the Natural Resources front desk. Hunting and fishing fees are waived for elders, and hunting fees are also waived for disabled hunters and veterans with military identification.
Hunting
The deer and elk season is from September 1 through February annually. Bear, cougar and special permit-only mountain goat seasons are September 1 thought August 31. The Administrative Assistant at the front desk can provide members copies of the annual Hunting Regulations, and maps to gates that the DNR keys will open. Filled tags need to be returned to Natural Resources within 10 days of harvest. All tags, harvested or not, need to be returned within 30 Days of expiration to avoid late fees. Return all tags to Natural Resources to be eligible to obtain tags next year.
For questions, contact the Administrative Assistant, Tricia Cline, at (360) 592-5140 x 3132.
Fishing
Fishing decals are issued annually, with the season beginning July 1. Fishing identification cards, boat registrations, fish buyer’s licenses, crab buoy tags, and individual member subsistence spring chinook permits are also available at the Natural Resources front desk.
The individual fishing and shellfish regulations issued by the Natural Resources Department are now distributed through a mass text system by the Harvest Manager, Jim Bura. This has replaced the former Hotline. For Tribal members to be added to the list to receive these fishing regulations, Jim needs to have a phone number that can receive texts. If your phone number changes, be sure to provide Jim with the new number. To be added to this, contact Jim at (360) 592-5140 x3134.
To be added to this, contact Jim at (360) 592-5140 x 3134.
Subsistence clam, mussel and oyster harvests for tribal members are limited to 5 gallons or 50 lbs daily. Subsistence crab fishers are limited to two pots and 12 crabs daily, and subsistence shrimp fishers are limited to 10 pounds daily. Be sure to check the biotoxin website for information about biotoxins and beach closures at https://fortress.wa.gov/doh/biotoxin/biotoxin.html
All subsistence fish and shellfish harvest catch should be reported to Jim.
